Description:Solid steel core string. Good, durable steel core strings for the beginning violinist. Stable through fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Bright sound, quick response. Works best with fine tuners for ease of tuning.
We Stock: Medium tension in 4/4, 1/2, and 1/8 (fits 1/10) sizes.
Also Available (Special Order): 4/4 Light tension or Heavy tension. Fractional sizes 3/4, 1/4, and 1/16 sizes Medium tension.
Note: Fractional size strings are currently available in Medium tension only.

Description: Nylon core string. A great choice for the advancing violinist seeking an affordable synthetic core string. Warmer sound than steel strings, greater stability than gut strings through humidity and temperature changes. Short break in period. Since D'Addario is based here in the USA, ProArte strings are a great alternative to the more expensive imported European strings. With the constantly increasing prices due to the Euro, we've seen many violinists switch from Thomastik Dominant to either the ProArte or Zyex strings.
We Stock: 4/4 Medium tension.
Also Available (Special Order): 4/4 Light tension or Heavy tension. 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 (fits 1/10), and 1/16 sizes are also available in Medium tension only.

Description: Multi-stranded steel core string. A top choice among electric violinists and fiddle players. Small string diameter allows for quick bow response. Warm, clear, powerful sound with excellent pitch stability and longevity.
We Stock: 4/4 Medium tension.

Description: Synthetic core string. Designed for the professional violinist. Warm, deep, rich sound with good blend across the strings. Extremely stable through extreme climatic conditions. Very short break in period, usually requiring only a few hours of playing. Since D'Addario is based here in the USA, Zyex strings are a great alternative to the more expensive imported European strings. With the constantly increasing prices due to the Euro, we've seen many violinists switch from Thomastik Dominant to either the Zyex or ProArte strings.

Description: Solid steel core string. Designed for the professional violinist, the Kaplan Solutions Non-Whistling E String is designed to offer a string that solves the problem of "whistling" some violinists encounter with other E strings. It is designed to blend well with the A, D, and G strings while offering clear sound with good projection on higher notes. This E string combines well with most any other set of violin strings.
Shannon's Side Note: To date, I cannot make this string whistle and I play on a 1908 J.B. Colin violin that happily whistles with virtually ANY E string! This and D'Addario's Zyex E are the only two so far that I can't make whistle.

Description: Synthetic core string. Used by intermediate violinists as their first "step-up string" as well as by professionals. Dominant strings have been the popular choice among violinists for many years. Soft, clear, rich sound with good blend across the strings. The synthetic core provides stability through climatic conditions while still allowing the richness of more temperamental gut strings. Similar to D'Addario's ProArte and Zyex strings.

Description: Synthetic core string. A relatively new string from Thomastik. The sound is bright, clear, and focused. For violinists who like Thomastik's Dominant strings but would like a brighter sound with more projection, this string may be a good alternative. Similar to Pirastro's Evah Pirazzi and D'Addario's ProArte strings.
