SEASON 2008
|

It's our sixth "summer of live"!
|
We know that the Front Porch name isn't unique--in fact, you'll find references to music on the "Front Porch" everywhere, from coast to coast and across all styles. The idea conveys both a sense of community and casualness that we like. Here are performances that are intimate and relaxed, yet still professional and inspiring. We present these free concerts to give everyone the opportunity to hear professionals up close, in the neighborhood, and FREE. Come out, bring a chair or use one of ours, and enjoy live music with our growing audience!

About The Artists
|
Concerts run "rain or shine"!
We prefer to have everything outdoors, both for vibe and space, but if the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll move inside the store. Some of the acts may need to be a little "unplugged", but it worked so well last year for the two rainy concerts that we'll be ready for whatever the elements hand us!
What's on deck this year
...we've offered ten dates, and our roster of returnees includes The Dave Sterner Quintet, Brian Henke, The Sax Section, Faces Made for Radio, and Aaron Kleinstub. A number of new artists both headliners and opening acts, are signed on, and we're excited about both the variety and level of artists you'll see this year. From the high energy country of Kerosene to the jazz of local legend Ernie Krivda, (and more!) it should be a great season. For more info, see the "About the Artists" area!
Opening acts for the 2007 season will begin at 7pm, with the headliners hitting around 7:30. If we don't program an opening act , though, the main concert will start at 7. Try to be one of the first 75 people to arrive: you'll get a number, and we've got prizes, gift certificates, and other goodies that will go to numbers drawn between acts. That means you've got a 1-in-75 chance!

The Dave Sterner Quintet plays for the crowd during Season 4

This year the Skyline Amphitheater (AKA the Corral) again offers naming rights to businesses wishing to put their personal stamp on the festivities. Y'all, for the right price, we'll gladly call it the Progressive Front Porch!
This year we've also lined up some food purveyors (including our fave gelato / Italian ice barristas at Rita's!) to bring you samples, coupons, and other goodies. Of course, you're welcome to add your own tailgate expertise to the show. We'll even hold extra parking spaces for anyone who wants to come in with a smoker trailer and do barbecue! No Alcohol, Please. This is a family event, not Woodstock III. That means leave the Slip 'n' Slides and Frisbees at home, too. But bring chairs or use ours, relax in your car, and enjoy the evening!
